Wandering, 18 january 2022

    Not my best day.  Had very little sleep last night.  Not restless but not feeling well.  My sore throat is back along with an earache.  Plus I had chills all last night.  I got some sleep this afternoon.  I worry since a friend said her Covid started with just a sore throat.  I worry that is what I have and certainly do not want to give it to anyone.  Cancelled all day wednesday.  Hate to be home another day alone.

    Nico needed out this morning just at sunrise.  I really need to remember my phone or a camera by the door.  The sunrise was breath-taking today.  The sun was behind the hill so I could not see it. But the sky going north of the hill was the most vivid bright pink.  How special I got to see it.

    Nico is sooo sleepy tonight.  He has managed to little by little roll next to me.  Now he is up against me and I cannot see his face.

    It was warm today.  Our high was 61F but tomorrow is totally different.  I low front is approaching.  Our high tomorrow is in the teens.  Will turn the water on to drip soon.  Strong winds are coming also.  Western Kansas will get a whopping one inch of snow.  As usual we will get nada.  Another front is coming after this one but no rain or snow.  Can they never be wrong?

    Our bulls had spring fever in the warmth today.  They were all laying down together this afternoon.  Tomorrow they will be all together trying to keep warm.  I used to have a friend who farmed in a fjord in Norway.  He told me it was law there that any animal you owned needed to have a building to go into when the weather was bad.  Not possible with a 300 head of cattle.  He just had a few.  My son used to be a custom harvester but this Norwegian was a custom hay harvester.  His photos were awesome!!

    Photos today are a mix.  The pink building is an old historical building in Abilene KS.  After it is the old Fox Theatre, all made like new.  The little old filling station is in Salina KS.  I wish someone would save it and use it for something.  I love it.  The 3 photos in the snow starting with my husband and one of our dogs.  Farming in the cold winters is hard work.  I miss it.  The last photo is my new coffee mug.  When I bought JS his mug, I got one for me also.  I like mine.
