Another day at home. But my friend AB who lives in Morocco texted me during the night. Our time zones are so far apart! And if I am sleeping I usually do not wake up. He was eating at a cafe. From his photo it looked like an open air one. He speaks perfect English. I finally looked up what languages are spoken there. They are Moroccan Arabic, French, Tamazight, English and Spanish. Will have to have him speak to me in his normal language so I can hear what it sounds like. These are listed in order of the most to the least. From the photos I have seen and what he shares with me Morocco is a beautiful country. His parents live in an oasis. His mother wears a large scarf but never a burka. It just drapes over head. Hope my spelling and terms are right. I love when we video talk and he is eating out and I can hear the Berber music playing in the background. Wish I could travel to there but I am sure it won't happen.
We got cold again. The temp dropped to the teens during the night and stayed in the 20s all day. Some wind but nothing major.
Well there was snow in Kansas. It was close enough to me I could wave at it but we got nary a flake. Weskan KS in the far west got 27 inches last I heard. The state record is 30 inches in 24 hours. Many places in western Kansas and eastern Colorado got at least 10 inches or more. I70 was closed due to bad roads. The snow must be nice. The good thing about lots of snow is it melts slowly and and goes directly in the ground. We should be so lucky. The one weatherman is wanting photos of the storm. Suppose he wants some of my barren yard and fields.
I think yesterday I saw my pond starting to thaw. But not today. Looks frosty. Lucky farmers have water tanks or they break the ice on ponds for their cattle and then wildlife. Life can be tough on the prairie for all.
My Spanish lesson last night was awesome! I passed with not even one error!! Is this one easier? I hope but I will pay for it later. Feels good not to struggle!
