Home alone with the snow. I decided not to go to work today. Or out to supper. We had maybe 4" of snow but there was some ice under it. And living alone always makes me think different. When Willie was alive and I did not come home he would ----- hopefully ----- come looking for me. What if I slid off the road and hit my head. I could freeze to death and no one would know. And I rarely have good luck. Makes me think twice. JR said the streets and sidewalks were icy in town. Just stay home and eat what I bought. Safer.
Mist started last evening around 8-9pm. By midnight we had heavy snow. Love watching it. I googled how to photograph falling snow and to see it in a photo. Got hints but during the day. No snow in daylight. Try the next time. I did go out and take photos from near my front door. The temp stayed in the teens today. Tonight it will drop with wind so we are now in a wind chill warning. It will feel like it is below zero.
Nico has to often take something outside with him. Often his "baby" is chosen. But it can be anything. Today he chose one of the treats I gave him. He took it out and dropped it in the snow. Time to come in he had trouble finding it. He tried to pick it up but it was covered in snow. He had to dig and dig because he kept moving it as he dug! Finally a snow covered treat went in the house. Wonder if it tasted better that way!
Sometimes when I am bed I can see my porch light some on. The lightbulb comes on with motion. My doorbell camera never shows anything. I added an extra camera down low to the floor. And yesterday I saw something walk on our porch. It was a grey cat that is really fat. Hope that comes from him eating mice around here!
The pond that was unfrozen yesterday is frozen again. Maybe just the top of it. No sparkle and no waves. And no cattle near my driveway today. Too cold to travel!
I got some new CBD gummies. Something new. They really put me to sleep last night. Great. Better than drugs.
All photos were taken this afternoon. The last photo was taken last night of icy branches.
