11 june, 2022 Wandering

    What a miserable day!!  Our high was 96F with a humidity of 58% all day.  Inside & out.  Does not feel as bad as I expected today.  I have my ceiling fan on & that helps a little.  Outside we have a nice wind today.  Means I can use my porch light & the breeze keeps the bugs at away.  I hope. 

    The prairie was a breezy today.  My pond had nice waves that glistened.  I heard an odd bird.  Or one of the quails had new sheet music he was reading!  It was pretty.  Little birds were flitting around.

    I took Nico out & he laid in the grass in the sun.  I let him lay for a while but it was so hot I was scared his under carriage would get sunburned.  From there he went to the cement in the sun.  I lead him away from there.

    I found a video of memory for my cousin who passed away.  She was so lovely.  Nice to see.  And sad that both she & her younger sister were on FB but I never heard from them & they never reacted to anything I posted.  I missed being connected to them.  But life changes.  A best friend at one time does not mean even an acquaintance later.  I had stopped them once a long time ago from seeing anything I posted.  They both protested they want to see what happens in their home town but not enough to be friends for real.

    Home alone today.  My favorite day.  Not.  Only chatted online with my brother.  In Lindsborg they celebrated Midsummers today.  I went for many years as part of a group.  Glad those days are over.  Too hot for me.  JR took tons of photos of the day.  And had a cherry limeade.  Looked yummy.

    Interesting tv tonight  One show showed how the president is protected from killers.  Amazing.  I knew little of what they showed.  This hour it is about robotics.  Fascinating.  Better than drivel on the 3 major networks.

    Photos are from a couple years ago.  Some harvest photos.  The wheat across the road from my house is really golden today.  One hot day!!  Just a few hot days & off we go.  I miss being there to take photos.  But I do not bother anyone to tell me where they are.  More important things than me.  But I still miss it.  And I took a photo where I got supper that day.  We ate very high on the hog that night.  Hickory Hut.  Best BBQ in Salina.  I still buy me some once in a while.  Too good for words.  Willie and I ate our last meal out there on his birthday.  I have not been able to go back in but use the drive through.

    Another harvest cute story.  A cousin used to help with harvest.  His little grandson came out to watch one day & I had fried chicken for supper.  And that was his favorite food.  His mom told him there was only enough for the crew.  I told her there was plenty & he could have all he wanted.  Big smile.  After that I made sure I was always told when he was going to visit.  We had chicken often for a couple of years! Nice to make someone happy.  And fun to remember.
