National Endangered Species Day

Today's Name Day: Ivan, Vanja

    Not a bad day, but it did not go as planned.  I was up early.  Slept good but just could not get back to sleep this morning.  I was up totally dressed & ready to go to town for a lunch date.  And just as I was about to head to my car,  I got a text that my date was cancelled.  Sometimes life gets in the way.  No worries.  We can try again next week.

    I tried to take an afternoon nap.  Failed.  Got up worked on genealogy & photos.  Cinder was outside & still is there.

    Genealogy is fun especially when there is a surprise or two.  I was working on the family of a local man & wife that are in my family.  And surprised to see my father's step father is a brother to the wife!!  And I get hints from MyHeritage that I am related to a lady from South America.  Huge family but one of them married into my family.  I will tackle them one of these days.  And a few weeks ago I found relatives from Nova Scotia.  New to me.  And today I found out where a grandfather was born in Ireland.  Looked it up.  Beautiful area!!  Wish I could go visit there.

    I went with JR to eat Mexican food.  I had no appetite.  Business was slow while we were there.  We then went for ice cream.  Did not have the one I wanted.  What I got was ok but just not my choice.  We sat outside to eat.  And chat with people we knew or tourists.  Nice weather tonight.  Then errands.  I went to get cash, we got groceries, & then I got fuel..

    Got some new shoes that are like walking barefoot.  Very comfy.  And cool looking.  Retail therapy always helps a bad week like this one.  Hope my mood lightens up pretty soon.

  Thistle, a wild flower.  This one is a safe one to let grow.  There is another kind that looks about the same that is illegal to let grow.  It will overtake a field fast & quick.

Wheat in the past.  I think this year it looks terribly short.  I don't dare to ask.
