Wandering, 25 march 2022

Had an OK day.  Slept good.  Weather was cool at night and so-so during the day.  About the same tomorrow.  Hot on sunday and me with no AC.  Great!

My fútbol (soccer) match last night was fun to watch.  It ended a tie.  It was a FIFA match.  By tying it keeps both teams in the running for the world cup.  I watched part of a novella (soap opera) before the match.  After it and the match, I am confident I have about 5 spanish words down pat.  I am so good.  Not.

The man who sang the Mexican national anthem was someone I had never heard of.  Manuel Mejares.  I googled him.  And listened to him on YouTube.  Very nice songs.  Soft and romantic.  Will listen to more of him.  Be the only romance I have in my life.

JR and I went to Jalisco's for supper.  Mildly busy.  Lots of food going out the front door for those watching basketball tonight.  No interest for me.  I really do not cares who wins but I know who I want to lose.

I saw a coyote on the way to town.  I always feel sorry for them.  We hunted rabbits to near extinction and that was their food.  Now they have little to eat.  And we go out of way to torture them when we kill them.  Takes a cruel person to do that.  Makes me sad.

On the way home from town I saw a car speeding towards Coronado Heights.  It had red/blue flashing lights.  No idea if they turned there or went past to whatever.  Hope all are OK.

Fun to watch the cattle in the nice weather.  The one pasture is so large they are not near me often.  Or often enough.

Photos are just some from around here.  The sunset was tonight from my yard.

Wandering, 23 march 2022

Not a bad day.  Cool night and warm day.  Clouds cleared and we had sun.  Made everyone happy but farmers.  We are officially in the severe drought area of Kansas.  Eastern Kansas is out of the drought but not the rest of us.  Several chances for rain tomorrow and twice next week.

I have a Mexican TV station on.  Oh, how I wish my spanish was better!!  The US National Soccer team plays the Mexico National team tonight.  I can pick out easy words like "but" but not the interesting words.  Do not need to understand the match except the most important word --- GOOOOOOOOOAL!!!  The Mexican announcers are the best!

Oh the prairie is beautiful today.  The pond and grasses are calm.  Earlier the cattle much had been fed hay.  They were in a long line! Fun to see!!  Yesterday we had 6 calves!  Fun to watch them play!  Especially when the form a mob and run!!

My nephew said we had 1.5" of rain.  Great!!  Got my gauge turned right now.  Ready for the next rain.

I was just out and moved my trash bins.  See if they stay standing more often.  And I can still drive out of the drive way.  Also a short trip to put trash in them.  Hope this works.  Even if they tip they may not blow over to the fence!!  Trash men will not like it.  See if they move them back where I want them.

This weekend is Vaffeldagen in town.  I stay home.  They dress up like waffles and sell them.  Not my thing.  Maybe JR and I can drive to eat in a place I have not been to in a while.  Great food and they make homemade bread.  Excellent.

photos are some flower photos I have created.  Kind of spring looking.

Wandering, 23 mar sa

Had a good night.  And slept without medication.  Nice.  And the fur kids were good too.  A pleasant change.

It stayed chilly all night and today.  When I left work I swear I could feel mist on my cheeks.  I stopped to talk to JM, a co-worker, and he felt the same.  Nothing on my windshield though.

I worked today.  The first time in a month.  Nice to be back.  My scanner had quit and was worked on and it is totally different.  Between LL and I we got things rolling.  And the longer I worked the more I figured some short cuts out.  Turns out it is easier than it was before.  I don't have to make as many stops and it sort of just flows.  Hope it stays that way.

JR and I met PM for supper.  Jalisco's were pretty busy.  I saw a huge box of food headed out the door.  A couple of friends sat next to us.  Nice to see them and say HI.  I rarely see anyone I know and if I do sometimes they don't speak.

While we were eating it started lightly raining.  I heard we got around an inch.  We need about 3 more inches falling slowly.  Would definitely help our wheat.

A couple of days ago there was a tornado near Dallas and a friend who lives there lost their home.  The photos are awful.  They are ok.  She used to live and work here in town.  For some reason we stay in touch.  Nice lady.

Not sure what is going on with me.  I had a couple of nights with severe pain.  Since then I have had little pain.  Won't complain.  Nice to feel good.  Usually after sitting or laying it takes me a few steps to walk ok.  Not today.  Walking better.  Hmmm.

Now the weather says rain tonight. Odd. Wonder why that changed?  I like it!

This morning I took Nico out.  It was dark and I looked out into the pasture.  The moon was shining on the pond.  That was all that showed.  So cool.  Bring my phone more often.

Photos are from today.  I saw 4 calves when I got home. Soo sweet!!

Wandering, 22 march, 2022

Had a very good day.  Our stupid trash bins that blew over when heavy and full.  I had planned for my nephew to pick them up and then we got another high wind warning.  Why bother?  So they came today and they had to pick them up to empty.  Karma.  Now I will move them where I hope they do not blow over.

It rained all night.  Someone in town had and inch of rain.  Then this morning we had a bit of snow.  Nothing major with white patches.  It rained or was frozen sleet all afternoon.  When I got up from my nap it had mostly stopped.  High winds until tomorrow night.

I went to lunch with a sort of new friend.  Known each other for a while and talked many times of going out to lunch.  Had tried several times in the last 3 weeks or so but always had to cancel.  But today we made it.  Had a place picked out but they were closed so we ate Italian.  Quite good.  Pasta is always good!  We had a nice talk. Nice afternoon.  Then we went to the art museum and that was good.  I had needed to go there to talk to the curator.  Had not seen each other since about 2009 and he remembered me.  He and I had a great talk.

Then I went home to nap.  Someone kept me up last night.  It is getting old.  I even took a pill to help me.  The dog is more powerful than the pill.

    Photos today are local things.

Wandering, 21 march, 2022

I had a quiet day.  Slept good last night although it started with Nico barking and Kisse wanting attention.  I finally took Nico outside.  I think he wanted a treat but it is bedtime.  Nope.  Bedtime.  I took a pill to sleep and we all went to sleep.  Can they absorb my meds through the air??  Whatever, it was nice.

I had an invitation to visit a friend while he worked but he totally spaced it out and I had decided the weather was upsetting my RA too much and just stayed home.  Maybe next monday.

We have had some rain today.  Not much I am sure.  Tonight it is to rain then snow all night.  Be nice.  We need moisture desperately.

This morning before the rain I looked outside.  The pond was calm as were the prairie grasses.  But there were 2 little calves running and playing around the pond.  They are adorable!  Once the rain started all the cattle were gone back home.  Not much else going on out there.

Today would have been my mother's 101st birthday.  I sure miss her and need her now.  But even if she was alive she could not help me.  Makes me sad.

Photos are just some local ones.  Several are from the White Peacock coffee shop.  I miss going there. But now I have no one to go with and chat with.  Guess I should just go alone and bring my iPad.  Who needs people??

Wandering, 20 march, 2022

Today is the first day of spring.  Came here at 10:33am.  It arrived with heat and super high winds.  A lovely day.  And fires in my state and further south.  Everytime we get winds we get fires too.

My mom had a twin sister who was stillborn tonight just before midnight.  Mom was born just after midnight.  They would gave been 101 years old.  She was never named or her grave marked.  I had a stone put on her grave in the last 2 years.  She needed that and so did I.

JR and I had lunch at Jalisco's.  They were pretty busy.  And boxes of food kept going put the front door!  My photos usually show it empty.  I do not like to photograph people without their permission.

I had JR come home with me and carry trash to the trash bins.  Then later I looked outside and they had tipped over.  Huh!?  They were full and heavy.  Have to ask my nephew to stand them back up.  I am not going to try.

I got no sleep last night.  Maybe from 7am to 9am.  Maybe but I won't swear to it.  I was so tired  after eating I could barely walk.  I laid down and tried to sleep and I failed.  Last night it was Nico who barked constantly.  Is that necessary?  And Kissed needed attention and to curl up and lay on me.  Those are the same reasons I got no nap this afternoon.  I hope tonight is better.

Rain starts tomorrow morning then a break and then late afternoon.  I am ignoring anything the weathermen say.  No need to get my hopes up.

Photos are just where I was today.  Nothing special.  The photos I loaded them in reverse order.
